The Project WAP13

Android based, Web based application, offline app, demo version

AboutThe Client

This is our first web based application for mobile platforms as a part of our expansion plan. The application is developed free of cost for an startup company as a demo version.

The general distinction between a dynamic web page of any kind and a “web application” is unclear. Web sites most likely to be referred to as “web applications” are those which have similar functionality to a desktop software application, or to a mobile app. HTML5 introduced explicit language support for making applications that are loaded as web pages, but can store data locally and continue to function while offline.

About this project

A web-based application is any application that uses a website as the interface or front-end. Users can easily access the application from any computer connected to the Internet using a standard browser.

This contrasts with traditional desktop applications, which are installed on a local computer. For example, most of us are familiar with Microsoft Word, a common word-processing application that is a desktop application.

Web-based applications are:

  • easier to develop
  • more useful for your users
  • easier to install, maintain and keep secure
  • easier to grow as you grow
